Our sustainability story

Green roofing

Living roof

Air quality in large cities is significantly improved by plants on roofs and facades. Nonwovens from Freudenberg Performance Materials are helpful in creating long-lasting waterproofing.

Sustainability

Leading a sea change

At its plants, FPM recycles 2.5 billion PET bottles every year. The reclaimed polyester is used to create nonwovens for use in roof waterproofing, thermal and acoustic insulation.

Small measures - large impact

Energy consumption reduced by around 20 percent? Sometimes it is the little things that together have a great effect.

FPM Sustainability

Second life as roof membranes

Did you ever think that plastic bottles can help seal roofs? Freudenberg Performance Materials recycles around seven million PET bottles a day in its European facilities. The recycled polyester is used to make nonwoven material to seal roofs.

FPM Sustainability

Every drop counts

Around the globe, Freudenberg Performance Materials is working hard to consume less water and recycle more wastewater in production than ever. The work is worthwhile, as seen in three examples from Taiwan, India and South Africa.
