Finishing

Finishing of technical textiles

Professional technologies for specific functionalities

Technical textiles are often finished by additional process steps in order to achieve specific product properties und functionalities. One of these processes is dot coating of adhesives (Freudenberg’s proprietary and patented power dot process) that prepares lamination of the interlining with outer fabrics e. g. for the apparel industry.

Dyeing, impregnation and printing are very similar to finishing processes of traditional textiles. Surface treatment can be achieved by calender (smoothing or perforation) and velourization via needlepunching. In hygiene applications the nonwoven is impregnated to become hydrophilic.
