Industry knowledge of the required materials and their requirements in terms of strength, flexibility and processability are important parameters for achieving the best results. Our continuous efforts and the wealth of experience of our customers have enabled us to realize sophisticated solutions and have made Lutradur® the industry leader in spunbond technology for a long time. The special nonwoven impresses with its unsurpassed versatility, adaptability and durability and is being applied in numerous industries.
Freudenberg Performance Materials manufactures Lutradur® in a proprietary, one step process. First, synthetic polymers in chip or flake form are extruded and spun into endless mono or bi-component filaments. The filaments are cooled, stretched, laid down on a belt and then thermally bonded in a continuous process. This process enables the development of solutions tailored to specific challenges. Lutradur® filaments are made from high-performance polymers such as (recycled) polyester and polypropylene, optionally with a polyamide, copolyester or (modified) polypropylene sheath. Options include open surfaces for improved coating impregnation and closed surfaces for optimal adhesion and thinner coating layers, contributing to process efficiency and cost savings.
Configurable to specific application requirements, such as moisture resistance or thermal stability.
High proportions of recycled polymers (rPET) stand for sustainable product solutions and at the same time offer high tensile strength and thermal stability.
The advanced thermal bonding of Lutradur® ensures a clean cut without fraying or curling - a crucial factor for precision and the durability of finished products.
Benefit from our innovative strength and the wide range of possibilities provided by Lutradur®. With the individual configurations offered by our unique technology and our decades of experience, we are able to develop your specific solution together with you.
Sustainability is one of the important milestones for Freudenberg Performance Materials in expressing its innovative strength and remaining economically successful. Our efforts include renewable energy concepts, intelligent, recyclable materials and consistent protection of all resources. This also includes our proximity to customers with production sites in North America, Europe and Asia, which enables us to ensure consistently high quality and at the same time realize short transport routes.
As early as the 1990s, we intensively began to develop products using recycled polymers. The Lutradur® range therefore also includes numerous products manufactured with 51% to 90% recycled polymers.
We have an almost infinite range of technologies at our disposal, enabling us to offer you a wide variety of options for developing your product into the best solution for your requirements. With our sophisticated manufacturing processes, we produce groundbreaking high-tech materials from a variety of polymers using mono- or bi-fibers. The spunbond technology used for Lutradur®, which we are constantly developing, also allows us to use various spinning and bonding technologies. With complementary processes, we ensure precise finishing and functional optimization of our technical nonwovens. Our possibilities for your needs are very diverse.
