Fine denier spunbonds with flexible polymer and fiber options

The innovative fine denier spunbond materials from Freudenberg Performance Materials are based on a flexible manufacturing technology that allows for a high degree of customization. The textiles can be made from PET, PE or PP– either as 100% composition or in various combinations, such as PET/PE, PET/coPET, or PET/mPP – using mono- or bicomponent fibers with titers ranging from 2.5 to 3 dtex. Basic weights range from 17 to 140gsm. Thermal bonding flat calendering or point sealing ensures strong, reliable bonding. The result: lightweight nonwovens with excellent tensile and tear strength, along with a smooth, uniform surface.
High-performance materials for coating and laminating
In the coating industry, Freudenberg’s fine denier spunbonds also contribute to improved process efficiency. The materials are chemically resistant and offer good thermal stability. Their smooth and even surface enables high-quality coating results when used as coating substrates. Material properties can be tailored to coating, laminating, and concealing applications by combining different polymers, fiber types, and bonding technologies. For example, a specific very lightweight flat-bonded variant is an ideal coating substrate for cold wax depilatory strips, offering the required high mechanical strength and material flexibility.
